I’ve always loved photographing horses. I didn’t want to take just pretty pictures, although I have plenty of those too. I wanted people to see horses from a different perspective. So I started making images of “parts”. I loved seeing the manes in the wind, eyes curiously looking at me, ears listening for any sound, whiskers that brush along my fingers, hooves letting you know they want more treats….well you get it. As I progressed I loved seeing how horses became part of the landscape. The gentle curve of the back and the neckline like mountains and rolling hills. They were meant to be here. What is more natural than seeing horses in their elements, just being horses?
